21 inches for Angel Hair for Kids

It’s been two and a half years since my last donation. This year, I donated 21 inches end-to-end! This is my third donation to Angel Hair for Kids. My first donation six and a half years ago was eight inches and second donation four and a half years ago was 10 inches. When I first looked it up, the length requirement was eight inches, now it’s 10 inches. I hope the eight-inch donation didn’t go to waste because someone posted the wrong length requirement. This year I know it’s long enough. I think a 21-inch donation is about as long as I can go though, it’ll be shorter next time.
The hairstylist at Nino D’Arena didn’t braid it, I didn’t realize until the hair was chopped off. I ended up braiding it when I went home. He was talking about how two others were in this week to donate their hair and he made it sound like he knew what he was doing. So, if you plan on going, make sure they know what’s required.
Angel Hair for Kids Hair Donation Guidelines:
- Hair must be washed.
- Hair must be dry.
- Hair donation must be a minimum length of 10 inches.
- Pull curly hair straight before measuring.
- Hair must be braided.
- Secure both ends with elastic bands.
- Make the cut above the upper elastic band.
When you have the hair cut, wrap it in tissue paper or put it in a plastic bag and place the container in an envelope or small box. Fill out a Hair Donation Form and mail it with the hair to:

If the hair is all scattered, they can’t use it. Keep it neat.
There’s also Locks of Love, but I’m not familiar if the organization just charges a lower price or nothing at all but I do know that Angel Hair for Kids provide wigs for no cost.
